چکیده

We give a description of an affine mapping T involving contact pairs of two general convex bodies K and L, when T (K) is in a position of maximal volume in L. This extends the classical John’s theorem of 1948, and is applied to the solution of a problem of Grünbaum; namely, any two convex bodies K and L in Rn have non-degenerate affine images K ′ and L′ such that K ′ ⊂ L′ ⊂ −nK ′. As a corollary, we obtain that if L has a center of symmetry, then there are non-degenerate affine images K ′′ and L′′ of K and L such that K ′′ ⊂ L′′ ⊂ nK ′′. Other applications to volume ratios and distance estimates are given. In particular, the Banach-Mazur distance between the n-dimensional simplex and any centrally symmetric convex body is equal to n. 2000 Mathematical Subject Classification. Primary: 46B, 52A. Metal (II) Complexes of Fluconazole: Thermal, XRD and Cytotoxicity Studies

We report thermal, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and cytotoxicity studies of complexes of fluconazole (FCZ) with Cu (II), Fe(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Mn(II). From XRD measurements, FCZ and its metal complexes were identified as polycrystalline. Marked differences in the X-ray patterns of drug and its metal complexes revealed that the complexes are indeed different compounds and not just the m...

Change Point Estimation of the Stationary State in Auto Regressive Moving Average Models, Using Maximum Likelihood Estimation and Singular Value Decomposition-based Filtering

In this paper, for the first time, the subject of change point estimation has been utilized in the stationary state of auto regressive moving average (ARMA) (1, 1). In the monitoring phase, in case the features of the question pursue a time series, i.e., ARMA(1,1), on the basis of the maximum likelihood technique, an approach will be developed for the estimation of the stationary state’s change...

Barley Productivity Decomposition in Iran: Comparison of TT, GI, MGI, and GTTI Approaches

In this paper, the authors present new indices for estimating technical change, return to scale, and TFP growth, as well as its decomposition. These indices, Modified General Index (MGI), Generalized Modified General Index (GMGI), and General Time Trend index (GTTI), are generalization of General Index approaches. These approaches were used for productivity decomposition of Iran's barely produc...

A Simple Thermal Decomposition Method for Synthesis of Co0.6Zn0.4Fe2O4 Magnetic Nanoparticles

Magnetic nanoparticles attracted a great deal of attention in the medical applications due to their unique properties. The most exceptional property of magnetic particles is their response to a magnetic force, and this property has been utilized in applications such as drug targeting, bioseparation, contrast agents in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and heating mediators for cancer therapy. In...
